经西江村两委、老年协会、鼓藏头、活路头商议决定,西江（鼓社）2026年“吃新节”时间定在农历六月初三卯日（公历7月16日）。After joint discussion by the Villagers' Committee of Xijiang, the Elderly Association, the Guzang Tou, and the Huolu Tou, the time for the "Nongx Mol(New Rice Festival)" of the Xijiang is set as the 3rd day of the 6th lunar month (July 16, 2026)“吃新”是雷公山一带苗族在农历6月或7月祈求农业丰收的节日。因为在“卯日”过而得名。吃新节当天，各家各户要去田里请“谷神”，然后摘取几根稻苞回家，挂在自家神龛上，用鱼、肉等来祭祖，祈求当年丰收。祭祀完毕后，就可正式开席。吃新要举行斗牛、游方等活动。The"Nongx Mol" is celebrated by the Miao people in the Leigongshan area during the sixth or seventh lunar month to pray for a bountiful harvest. Its name derives from its observance on "Mao Day." On this day, each household goes to the fields to invite the "Grain God," selecting a few young rice stalks to bring home and hang on the family shrine. Families then offer sacrifices including fish and meat, praying for a good harvest. Only after this ritual does the feast commence. The festival features traditional activities such as buffalo fights and youfang, the romantic social gatherings for the young.
