The Strait of Hormuz is closed only for ships from those countries that violate Irans borders, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday.
"The illusion of erasing Iran from the map shows desperation against the will of a history-making nation. Threats and terror only strengthen our unity. The Strait of Hormuz is open to all except those who violate our soil. We firmly confront delirious threats on the battlefield," he wrote on his X page.
US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday evening, stating that "The United States has blown Iran off the map."

Iran said the Strait of Hormuz, crucial to oil and other exports, would be "completely closed" immediately if the US follows up on Trump's threat to attack its power plants. Trump late Saturday set a 48-hour deadline to open the strait.
"If Iran's fuel and energy infrastructure is attacked, then fuel, energy, information technology systems and desalination infrastructure used by America and the regime in the region will be struck," Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesman for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya military command headquarters, warned on Sunday, according to the IRNA Iranian state news agency.
