On the evening of March 3, Apple launched the new MacBook Air with the M5 chip, as well as the MacBook Pro equipped with the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors.
New MacBook Air
The new MacBook Air comes standard with 512GB of SSD storage, doubling the base capacity, with an option to configure up to 4TB, making it convenient for users to store their most important work anytime, anywhere.
Apple’s N1 wireless chip supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, allowing users to enjoy seamless connectivity on the go.
The MacBook Air features a lightweight and durable aluminum chassis, a Liquid Retina display, a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, up to 18 hours of battery life, an immersive sound system with spatial audio, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports that can support up to two external displays.
Powered by the M5 processor, the new MacBook Air is available in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, with four color options: Sky Blue, Midnight Blue, Starlight, and Silver.
Pre-orders for the new MacBook Air begin on March 4, with official sales starting on Wednesday, March 11.
The 13-inch MacBook Air with M5 starts at ¥8,499, and the 15-inch model with M5 starts at ¥9,999. Both models are offered in Sky Blue, Midnight Blue, Starlight, and Silver.
New MacBook Pro
The new MacBook Pro features SSD performance improvements of up to 2x. The M5 Pro model starts with 1TB of storage, while the M5 Max model starts with 2TB.
The new MacBook Pro also comes with the N1 chip, an Apple-designed wireless networking chip that supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, significantly enhancing wireless connectivity performance and stability. Additionally, it offers up to 24 hours of battery life; a Liquid Retina XDR display with an optional nano-texture finish; a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera; studio-quality microphones; an immersive six-speaker sound system; and the powerful macOS Tahoe operating system.
Available in Space Black and Silver, the new MacBook Pro will be open for pre-orders starting March 4, with official sales beginning on Wednesday, March 11.
The MacBook Pro with M5 starts at ¥14,999, the M5 Pro model starts at ¥17,999, and the M5 Max model starts at ¥29,999.
In addition, Apple has released a new Studio Display and an all-new Studio Display XDR.
The new Studio Display (with an adjustable tilt stand) starts at ¥11,999, and the Studio Display XDR (with an adjustable tilt stand) starts at ¥24,999. Pre-orders begin on March 4, with official sales starting on Wednesday, March 11.
