Artist Na Yina, legally named Zhai Geying, has been classified as a "disgraced artist" by a city in Hubei province, resulting in the cancellation of a performance license for an event she was set to join.
The Administrative Approval Bureau of Xiangcheng District in Xiangyang city announced the decision on Wednesday, citing relevant laws and a directive from the provincial culture and tourism department. It stated that Na Yina's involvement breached Article 8 of the self-regulatory rules for performing arts practitioners, which prohibits disgraced artists from participating in commercial performances. Consequently, the bureau revoked the performance approval previously granted to Beijing Yimiao Culture Media Co Ltd, the company organizing the show.
