A foreign couple left their twin infants with a park security guard at a Guiyang scenic spot in Guizhou province. The guard, with the help of warm-hearted visitors, cared for the babies — even changing a diaper — until the parents returned.
Chen Daying, the guard in Qianling Mountain Park who assisted with the infants, told Jimu News that the twins appeared to be less than six months old and were very cute. While many visitors stopped to coo over them, one baby began crying intensely. "I noticed the baby had soiled its diaper," Chen said. "My hands were too cold, so I asked a female visitor with warm hands to change the diaper for me, to avoid making the baby uncomfortable."
The foreign couple did not leave any contact information before heading to the cable car. They returned to collect their children after enjoying the scenic views.
The incident captured broader attention after a park visitor, surnamed Ouyang, shared a video on social media along with her reflections. "Public security in China has reached such a level that foreign friends feel safe enough to 'check' their babies with strangers while riding a cable car," she wrote in the post. "And as a Chinese passerby, I'm proud that we didn't hesitate to step in and help — even changing a dirty diaper. Kudos to us!"
In the video, the two babies can be seen lying in separate strollers, both with bright, wide eyes. At one point, one of them cries loudly as visitors crowd around, trying to soothe them. A voice can be heard in the background remarking, "At first I thought someone had abandoned the babies here for you to watch."
