Human-Machine Symbiotic Manufacturing System
期刊:npj Advanced Manufacturing
客座编辑:Pai Zheng, Tao Peng, Ang Liu, Xi Gu, Hyun-Jung Kim, Yongjing Wang & Yunbo Zhang
Empowered by the cutting-edge AI and digital technologies, futuristic manufacturing paradigm is shifting towards a human-machine symbiotic environment. It is hence essential to understand and enhance the relationships between humans and smart robots/machines—through proactive interactions, collaborations and even co-evolvement, where one can address safety, efficiency, and socio-technical concerns towards human-centered automation. This collection delves into the integration, interactions, and collaboration between humans and advanced robotic systems in the manufacturing industry.

Metagenomics in marine and terrestrial aquatic environments
期刊:Scientific Data
客座编辑:Shengwei Hou & Pablo Sánchez
Metagenomics provides a powerful, culture-independent tool for exploring the complex microbial landscapes of aquatic environments. This Collection presents descriptions of datasets of metagenomic data collected from marine and freshwater ecosystems. Data should include the raw reads, as well as any sequencing scaffolds or metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs), annotations, and associated metadata. Datasets are presented without hypotheses or conclusions, and analyses should focus on validating the dataset to ensure reliability and quality for reuse in the community.
Nature Portfolio
Microbiome changes in response to temperature stress
期刊:Scientific Reports
客座编辑:Chao Jiang, Bong-Soo Kim & Sandra Pucciarelli
This Collection aims to attract original research that advances our knowledge of changes to the microbiome under temperature stress.
Nature Portfolio
Quantum enhanced machine learning
期刊:npj Quantum Information
客座编辑:Dong-Ling Deng, Bei Zeng, Lei Wang & Junyu Liu
Machine learning, and more generally, artificial intelligence, has achieved dramatic success over the past decade. This has been apparent in the tackling of notoriously challenging problems such as mastering the game of Go or predicting protein structures. Meanwhile, the quantum computing field has also undergone impressive development, with the experimental demonstration of quantum supremacy and error correction codes marked as the latest breakthroughs. These two rapidly advancing fields have now intersected, giving birth to a new research frontier: quantum machine learning.
Nature Portfolio
Genetic markers, variants and recombination data
期刊:Scientific Data
客座编辑: Jason Flannick, Chengtao Li & Yang Liu
This Collection contains descriptions of sequence, genetic marker, variant, and recombination data relevant to genetics, population genetics and population genomics. Datasets for SNPs, allele frequencies, genotype/phenotype information, and reduced representation genomes are welcome. Such data are the cornerstone of marker assisted selection, genetic mapping, evolutionary biology, conservation management and personalised medicine.
Nature Portfolio
Inflammation and metastasis
期刊:Scientific Reports
客座编辑:Simone Anfossi, Gaoliang Ouyang, Kota V Ramana & Yong Teng
This Collection invites original research exploring the relationship between inflammation and metastasis, with a focus on mechanistic studies underlying this relationship and studies identifying novel therapies targeting inflammation. Studies examining only blood-based inflammatory biomarkers as predictors of metastatic disease without examining the underlying biology will not be considered.
