本周我们来学习与领导力相关的词汇


1. leadership /'liːdəʃɪp/

n.领导力;领导才能

搭配:firm/ poor/ indecisive leadership 强有力的/弱的/优柔寡断的领导力

strengthen/ reinforce leadership 增强领导力

under sb’s leadership 在某人的领导下

Dealing successfully with difficult problems will reinforce your leadership.

Because of poor leadership, the country now faces an economic crisis.

Under her leadership, the team successfully completed the project ahead of schedule.

2. visionary /'vɪʒənɛri/

adj. 有远见的;愿景的

e.g. She is known as a visionary leader.

e.g. Under his visionary leadership, the company expanded into new markets and became a global leader in sustainability


n. 有远见卓识的人

e.g. She's a visionary in her field.

e.g. Steve Jobs was a visionary who revolutionized the tech industry with his innovative ideas for the iPhone.


3. considered /kən'sɪdəd/

adj. 深思熟虑的

e.g. Great leaders are often seen as reasoned individuals who listen and make considered judgements.

e.g. He gave a considered response to the feedback, acknowledging both the positives and the areas for improvement.


synonym: reasoned有理有据的; 经过缜密思考的

e.g. Critical thinking refers to the ability to analyze information objectively and make reasoned judgments.


antonym: impulsive 易冲动的;草率的

e.g. Impulsive decisions in leadership can sometimes lead to short-term rewards, but they may harm long-term goals.


4. turnover /'tɜːnəʊvə/

n. (人员的)流动率

e.g. A focus on improving workplace culture and leadership could help lower the company's turnover rate.

雅思听力17-4-2:A lot of managers think it’s this and the long hours that are the main causes of high staff turnover – but what they don’t realize is that it’s the lack of training in many hotel jobs which is a huge factor.


antonym: retention 保留;留住: the ability of a company or organization to keep its employees over time, minimizing turnover.

e.g. Supportive, communicative, and inspiring leadership tends to improve employee retention.

e.g. The company has implemented several initiatives to improve employee retention, including flexible work hours and a clear path for career growth.


5. favoritism /ˈfeɪvrəˌtɪzəm/

n. 偏爱;偏袒

e.g. Favoritism in the workplace can lead to resentment, making it difficult for employees to work together effectively.

e.g. " nepotism" is what we would call favoritism for your relatives.
