On November 19th, the 2024 Award Ceremony of World Internet Conference (WIC) Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology was held in Wuzhen, recognizing 20 internationally representative projects across cutting-edge fields such as brain-inspired computing, embodied intelligence, the 6G network, big data, and high-performance chips. These achievements highlight the latest breakthroughs and innovative potential in global internet technology.
The ceremony featured a tech-forward design, combining ultra-high-definition displays inspired by Wuzhen's "Internet Bridge" with glasses-free 3D and digitally controlled stage effects. Attendees were immersed in an audio-visual experience as representatives from renowned global enterprises, universities, and research institutions gathered to share advancements in internet technology. A dedicated exhibition and interaction area allowed participants to engage directly with the representatives of award-winning projects to discuss pathways for technology application and commercialization.
This year's winning projects included notable breakthroughs across various domains. Highlights included Baidu's ERNIE Bot Agent Builder, Alibaba Cloud's AI cloud computing infrastructure, the national SuperComputing Network integrating computing power supply chains, the LAMOST spectral data processing project, and the ACE-6G semantic communication platform tailored for 6G development. Baidu's Chief Technology Officer Wang Haifeng emphasized that artificial intelligence technologies, represented by large models, are leading global innovation trends, with agents offering significant growth potential.
The conference received 270 submissions from 24 countries and regionsin total, with 20 winners selected through professional evaluation. Wu Hequan, the Chair of World Internet Conference Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology Review Committee and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, noted the growing international influence of the awards. Increasing global participation underscores the potential of these achievements to drive further development and application, injecting new momentum into global economic and social progress.

颁奖典礼现场科技感十足,设计灵感源于乌镇“互联网桥”的高清大屏结合裸眼3D和数控舞台技术,为与会者带来沉浸式的视听体验。全球多家知名企业、高校及科研机构的代表汇聚一堂,共同分享互联网领域的前沿成果。活动还特别设置了交流展示专区,与会者能够与获奖项目代表面对面探讨科技成果的转化路径和应用前景。
此次获奖项目包含多个领域的标志性技术成果。例如,百度的文心智能体技术、阿里云的AI云计算基础设施、连接算力产业链的国家超算互联网平台、LAMOST天体光谱数据处理项目,以及面向6G的语义通信技术平台“ACE-6G”。百度公司首席技术官王海峰表示,以大模型为代表的人工智能技术正引领全球科技创新浪潮,智能体的应用是当前大模型发展最具潜力的方向之一。
