“Plain District素域”2024年的主题"流动幻念"可以被理解为去年"虚空折射"项目的延续,将实验的切入点从打破转换为创造。


"流动"意味着持续的调节和变化,充实并加强以"幻念",即想象力,便合并为"流动幻念",激发出不可预测的、不设限的和尚未被检测的艺术表达形式。


在大理一座先驱设计半功能性建筑中献上首场演出后,“Plain District素域”将在西安以全新的形式进一步开辟新领域。


The Plain District 2024, themed Flux Fiction can be understood as a sequel to last year's Void Refraction project, switching its experimental Modus Operandi from the breaking to the making.


“The flux“ implies a flow of constant modulation and change, amplified and multiplied with “The fiction“, the imagination, merging into “Flux Fictions“, stimulating unpredictable, unstable, and untested manifestations of artistic expression. 


After premiering its first event in a semi-functional building of visionary-designed architectural fiction in Dali, the Plain District breaks further ground with a second novelty format in Xi'an.





Plain District素域2024 年的三场活动,将为每个城市和阵容采用截然不同的策展方式,延伸“流动幻念”的主题:大理的“创造之势”,西安的“关联之圈”,广州的“自省之域”。


“关联之圈”包含两个演出层面。第一个策展层面旨在呈现中国当代电子音乐独特的先锋性;第二个层面则会凸显德国电子音乐文化的影响,从Space Rock(即享誉国际的Krautrock)到Techno。


扩展开来,两个层面的演出在毫无壁垒的电子音乐共通语言中共振,在多个面向和并行存在的形式中产生影响和关联。



For the three Plain District events in 2024, the main theme of Flux Fiction is expanded by a distinct curatorial approach for each city and lineup. "Ventures of Making" for Dali, "Circles of Interrelation" for Xi'an, and "Fields of Introspection" for Guangzhou.


"Circles of Interrelation" contains two oscillating program sections. The first curatorial section represents the distinct avant-garde of contemporary Chinese electronic music; the second section indicates the influence of German electronic music culture from "Cosmic Rock" (internationally known as "Krautrock") to Techno. 


In extension, both program sections resonate in the universal language of electronic music of no barriers, where influences and connections are present in manifold directions, and parallel existing formats.

作为第二场演出,“Plain District素域”将颇具规模的全方位电子音乐项目带到了中国最负盛名的音乐场地之一——西安音乐厅,这个通常邀请中外艺术家和管弦乐团演奏古典音乐会的场所,为艺术家和观众迈出了探索的一步。本场电子音乐演出被纳入著名的西安国际音乐节的节目单也实属首次。


“Plain District素域”开辟未知的领域,将活动场地从废弃的工业场所转移到当代文化综合体的建筑中。只有当建筑物被激活,被艺术想象、音乐和观众填满时,空间才会短暂地活跃起来。而当所有这些都消失,最终的开关被触发,只余建筑的外壳和记忆的悸动回声。


“Plain District素域”以不断变化的形式构建出不同寻常的空间,带领观众踏上一场介于亲密关系与情感表达之间的旅程,沉浸在变换的空间中,与光与声的“流动幻念”产生共鸣。空间和程序设计沿用剧院、歌剧和音乐会运营的经典模式,并进行创新的编排和诠释。


与陕西大剧院|西安音乐厅旗下独立厂牌“声厂SoundFact”的合作,为“Plain District素域”项目和中国电子音乐文化解锁了一个独特的契机。双方的策展、创意和技术知识得以在这场中国尚无先例的活动中紧密结合、共同施展。此次合作促成了不拘一格的专业切磋,实属幸事。



As a second premiere, the Plain District brings a comprehensive electronic music program of this magnitude to one of China's most prestigious music venues, the SNPAC Concert Hall in Xi'an, usually reserved for classical music concerts by Chinese and international artists and orchestras, unleashing unexplored realms for artists and audiences. The event also premieres the first-ever electronic music program to become part of the prestigious Xi'an International Music Festival.


The Plain District unveils in yet unknown territories, shifting its occurrence from abandoned industrial facilities to the architecture of contemporary cultural complexes. Only when this architecture is activated, filled with artistic imagination, music, and audience, these spaces briefly come to life. When all this falls away and the final switch is flicked, solely the architectural shell and the throbbing echo of memories remain.


The Plain District fabricates spaces out of the ordinary in ever-altering forms and takes the audience on a journey between intimacy and expressiveness to immerse in transformed spaces, and to resonate with the flow of Flux Fiction in light and sound. The spatial and procedural design quotes classic patterns from theater, opera, and concert operations, innovatively orchestrated and interpreted.


The collaboration with SoundFact, the independent promoter under SNPAC, unlocks a unique opportunity for the Plain District project and China's electronic music culture. Curatorial, creative, and technical know-how are set to be bundled and implemented jointly in a first-of-its-kind event in China. The collaboration opens up a particular and unique professional environment, that otherwise remains inaccessible.

Plain District素域”荣幸地宣布,德国Krautrock时代的先驱之一 Harald Grosskopf ,又名 Synthesist, 将作为此次活动的主角献上在中国的首场独家个人演出。


Harald Grosskopf 是电子音乐界首位用鼓来为电子化的旋律和低音线(音序器)伴奏的鼓手。Grosskopf 曾加入过许多德国电子 Krautrock 乐队,是Ash Ra Tempel、Klaus Schulze和Cosmic Jokers背后的神秘打击乐手。他的首张专辑《Synthesist》于 1980 年发行,堪称德国电子音乐史上具有开创性意义的专辑之一。


1979 年夏天的德国柏林,当时 30 岁的Harald Grosskopf正处于个人生活和音乐创作的十字路口。他的女朋友离开了他;而 Ashra(Manuel Göttsching 的“个人”项目)暂时停摆。Harald 一直将自己定位为众多合作者主导下的节奏配角,直到一些音乐人朋友鼓励他去追求不一样的创作愿景。

The Plain District is delighted to announce that Harald Grosskopf, aka Synthesist, one of the German pioneers of the "Krautrock" era, will headline the event for an exclusive and first solo performance in China.


Harald Grosskopf was the first drummer in electronic music to accompany electronically generated melody and hardware-generated bass line sequences on drums. Grosskopf has lined up in many German Electronic Krautrock formations and was the enigmatic percussionist behind Ash Ra Tempel, Klaus Schulze, and Cosmic Jokers. His debut album Synthesist, published in 1980, is regarded as one of the ground-breaking releases of its period in German electronic music history.


Berlin, Germany, summer of 1979, Harald Grosskopf, then 30 years old, was at a personal and creative crossroads. His girlfriend just left him, and Ashra (Manuel Göttsching’s “solo” project) was on temporary hiatus. Harald always considered himself a rhythmic accomplice to his numerous collaborators’ lead, until prompted by some fellow musician friends to pursue a singular creative vision.


Armed with a Minimoog and Revox reel-to-reel 8-track tape recorder, Grosskopf set for the West German countryside and isolated himself in a home studio for almost two months to record his first solo album. The temperamental analog synthesizer and sequencing technology created a long learning curve, eventually resulting in a harmonious union of man and machine, which led to what became known as the "Synthesist" — The rest is history.

In his autobiography, Harald Grosskopf tells in detail, dazzlingly and humorously, about his time in the so-called Berlin School (Ashra, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream), which earned him the nickname "Monsieur Séquenceur" for his ultra-precise drumming, about his excursions into the New German Wave and the world-famous jazz festival in Montreux, where he accompanied his admirers from the techno scene, Ralf Hildenbeutel, and Oliver Lieb. Grosskopf tells of touring the world and reports on his current artistic work.

In his new album “Strom“, which translates from German as both “electricity” and "torrent", he fuses classic melodic synth sound with the digital tools of today for a fully charged body of work. Harald Grosskopf personates the pioneering work in the world of electronic music as a lifelong passion.


35 years after his legendary debut album "Synthesist", Harald Grosskopf exclusively premieres previously unreleased material live to the Chinese audience for the Plain District, which will also publish excerpts of his autobiography in Chinese for the first time.

33EMYBW is a Shanghai-based producer and has referred to her style of music as "limb dance." She's inspired by arthropods— that is, insects, spiders, crustaceans, and other exoskeletal creatures — and tries to use "arthropod-like beat evolution to achieve the perception of tiny creatures dancing around."


33EMYBW has been an active member of the Chinese music scene for over a decade. Drawing inspirations from modern dance music, folk music, and a wide range of visual materials, she gradually refined a variety of mixed conceptual elements into a form that combines very personal rhythm and stunning experimental sound designs. 


33EMYBW is the unlikely star of the Shanghai-founded label SVBKVLT. Her 2018 album “Golem“, was met with critical acclaim and was voted one of the best electronic albums of 2018 by Bandcamp. “Golem“, was followed up by her 2019 release Arthropods, including remixes from Hakuna Kulala’s Don Zilla, Hyperdub’s Ikonika, and NAAFI’s Lechuga Zafiro. In 2023, 33EMYBW released Symbiosis Codes / Mandala containing two live sets of unreleased material, and her fourth studio album Holes of Sinian, featuring collaborations with Marina Herlop, Batu, Forrest Gander, and oxi peng.


Following live sets at Nyege Nyege Festival, Uganda, and at the Aphex Twin curated opening of the 2019 Warehouse Project, Manchester, 33EMYBW premiered live shows at Unsound Festival, Krakow, followed by performances in London, Milan, and Zurich. Further important venues for her live shows include Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), SXSW (Austin), CTM (Berlin), Soft Centre (Sydney), and Recombinant (San Francisco).


33EMYBW is a core member of Shanghai’s most well-known experimental rock/electronic band “Duck Fight Goose (YADAE)“.

Gooooose is Shanghai-based Han Han, a combination of music producer, visual artist, and software developer. He has performed in various venues in Europe and the US, including HKW and CTM festival in Berlin, Cite De La Musique in Paris, Nyege Nyege (Uganda), Soft Centre (Sydney), Unsound (Krakow), Serralves (Porto) and Recombinant (San Francisco), since 2012. His major releases include "They", "Pro Rata" (Ante- Rasa), "Rusted SIlicon", "JAC", "Trans Aeon Express", "Rudiments" (SVBKVLT), plus appearances on music compilations published around the world.


As a music producer, composer, and audio-visual artist, he realized various projects, such as A/V live performances, light installations, and original soundtrack compositions for films, commercials, and fashion brands, among artworks exhibited in galleries, since 2017. In 2020, Gooooose and 33EMYBW co-composed the soundtrack for the “Orient Flux” exhibition of UK artist Weirdcore at Beijing's SKP-S. They later co-released the album “Trans Aeon Express” in 2022.


Gooooose released his fourth studio album, “Rudiments” in 2023. The audio-visual performance “Voxels—A Research of the 21st Century Species” was created as an extension of the album and presented live in London, Bristol, Barcelona, Porto, and Rome by Gooooose in June 2024.


Gooooose is a core member of Shanghai’s most well-known experimental rock/electronic band “Duck Fight Goose (YADAE)“.

For the listener, German composer Konstantin Heuer aka Techno artist tsimtsum creates experiences of nuanced sensation, emotional honesty, and formal interest. He writes orchestral, vocal, and chamber pieces and electronic music for listening, immersing, and per the alias tsimtsum, for the club context. 


Learning from Renaissance, Baroque, Classical Music, Gamelan, and Maqam. Konstantin Heuer creates new tonalities in extended just intonation just intonation. His mentors were Marco Stroppa, and Marc Sabat. He did the Cursus for computer music at IRCAM Centre Pompidou and received the Gaudeamus Price.


The tsimtsum project sets up on deep, gritty garage-infused techno, harmonies, and evolutions that draw from the musical background of a classically trained composer. Bridging delicate Parisian electronica with tart Berlinoise analog traditions, all sounds are meticulously honed and specified, organic, hypnotic, and in inner motion. Atmospheres — dusty, mystic, groovy, yet they also speak emotionally.

WHITE+ (CN)


WHITE+,也就是“白+”,脱胎于2010年在北京举办的“燥眠夜”系列音乐活动。他们称自己是“硬件电子乐队”——守望负责效果器、人声、改装电子琴以及使用一些稀奇古怪的电子设备发出各种声音;而王旭则全盘操控打击乐以及鼓机采样,产生跳动的背景节拍,甚至还将套鼓搬进了俱乐部中。


他们的音乐展现着极简主义美学,在噪音底色之上往复分裂,创造出精巧的结构。2012年,乐队推出了同名首专《WHITE+》;暌违十余年发布了第二张专辑《II》。

WHITE+ started at the Beijing-born experimental event series Zooming Night In 2010. They have been described as a “hardware electronica band” with Zhang Shouwang in charge of vocals, customized keyboards, pedals, and loops — Wang Xu plays drums, drum machines, and samplers, generating the constant pulse of their rolling beats.


White+ music flaunts some brilliant sparks as it reflects the duo's minimalist taste, creating delicate structures surrounded by a field of noise.  A fan once described their live shows as “a detailed and accurate cell division” — their sound and production methods are heavily influenced by what emerged in Germany as "Krautrock".

Uni-T (CN)


 Uni-T 是由中国的电子音乐艺术家Boyang Guan与媒体艺术家LazyBackHome组成的 audio-visual双人组。他们的创作跨越了传统媒介和新兴技术,探索多种载体之间的边 界。在Uni-T作为独立项目诞生之前,两人已⻓期合作4年之久,与多数以抽象元素为主 的视听现场不同的是,他们的现场以具有戏剧感的感官体验著称,将表演现场作为一个 实验叙事场域来看待。


其创作是对宗教、⺠俗、网络人格、未来意识体的重构式讨论。LazyBackHome以游戏CG为实践,进行影像化叙事,通过其史诗感画面及对东⻄方文化 符号的杂糅,将观众带领其中,Boyang Guan作为音乐人则将club场景中所强调的身体 律动与影视化的声音设计进行有效结合,让听众的全身感官都能融入到叙事中。



Uni-T is the audio-visual duo formed by Chinese electronic music artist Boyang Guan and media artist LazyBackHome. Their work crosses traditional mediums and emerging technologies, exploring the boundaries between multiple art practices. Before Uni-T was born as an independent project, the duo had already been working together for four years. Unlike most audio-visual live shows that focus on abstract elements, their live sets are known for their dramatic sensory experiences, treating the performance scene as an experimental narrative field. 


Uni-T's work is a reconstructed discussion of religion, folklore, cyber-personality, and the future body of consciousness; LazyBackHome uses game CG as a practice for visual narrative, leading the audience through epic images and mash-ups of Eastern and Western cultural symbols. Boyang Guan, as the musician, effectively combines the physical movements emphasized in the club scenes with the cinematic sound design, allowing the listener's whole body to integrate into the narrative.

LazyBackHome,目前工作于中国,影像与视觉艺术家,导演。硕士就读于伦敦艺术大学伦敦传媒学院。其创作是一种根植在互联网社会语 境之下,对媒体、权威与个体之间三方关系的窥探,她将童话、神话、寓言为本文,以影像、表演等形式呈现并质疑当代社会性话题。曾入围 The Wrong 数字艺术双年展,作品曾展览于东京大田秀则画廊、Ars Electronica“Yami-Ichi”,上海K11 , 威尼斯军械库等美术馆及画廊。



LazyBackHome is a visual artist and director currently working in China. She holds a Master's degree from the London College of Communication, and the University of the Arts London. Her work explores the relationship between media, authority, and the individual within the context of Internet society. 


LazyBackHome uses fairy tales, myths, and fables as the basis of her narratives, presenting and questioning contemporary social issues through video and performance. She has been shortlisted for The Wrong Digital Art Biennale, and her works have been exhibited at venues such as the OTA Fine Arts Gallery in Tokyo, Ars Electronica "Yami-Ichi," Shanghai K11, and the Venice Arsenale.

GUAN,管博扬,杭州的电子音乐制作人及数字媒体艺术家,教育从业者,以独特的数码反乌托邦美学在中国音乐场景中站稳脚跟。毕业于中国美术 学院,他在对声音与其它媒介的把玩中形成了自己的奇特思路,以人机关系为核心批判性地看待数字社会。


GUAN的作品是癫狂的,音乐类型以融 合、多变著称,在对未来变异生物的想象中创建一套“高科技自然主义”的声音体系,激进的声音实验塑造出一个个疯癫且有机的的诡谲景象。


GUAN, Boyang Guan, is an electronic music producer and digital media artist from Hangzhou. He has established himself in the Chinese music scene with his unique digital dystopian aesthetics. After graduating from the China Academy of Art, he has developed his own distinctive approach to sound and other mediums, critically examining the relationship between humans and technology in the digital society.


GUAN's work is characterized by its eccentricity and is known for its fusion and versatility in musical genres. Through his imaginative exploration of future mutant organisms, he has created a "high-tech naturalism" sound system, where radical sonic experiments shape bizarre and organic landscapes.

声厂是陕西大剧院旗下的独立厂牌,深深扎根于独立音乐和青年文化。声厂以西安为活动中心,从事广泛的音乐项目。 


厂牌的使命为,通过整合现场表演策划、音乐制作、企划统筹、艺术跨界和创新沟通,为怀有相同理想、秉持探寻好音乐愿望的人们创造一个聚会的场所。


自 2021 年以来,声厂策划和组织了噪点音乐节、100万帧独立音乐现场、爵士在野音乐节等演出活动。此外,声厂还为 black midi、Black Country New Road、betcover!!、Shibusashirazu 和 GoGo Penguin 等乐队筹办了巡演。

SoundFact is an indie label based in the Shaanxi Performing Arts Center (SNPAC) deeply rooted in indie music and youth culture. With Xi'an as the epicenter of its activities, SoundFact is engaged in a wide range of musical projects. 


The label's mission is to create a meeting place for people who share the same spirit - the desire to explore the facts of sound by integrating live show curation, music production, A&R, art crossovers, and innovative communication.


Since 2021, SoundFact has been curating and organizing music festivals such as Sonic Jam Music Festival, A Million Frames Live, and Jazz At Large Festival. Moreover, SoundFact managed tours for bands such as black midi, Black Country New Road, betcover!!, Shibusashirazu, and GoGo Penguin. 


SoundFact curated performances for the Xi'an International Music Festival and invited artists and bands such as Wu Na, Li Daiguo, Xiao He, STOLEN, and Frankfurt Helmet. Over the past three years, Sound Fact has helped Xi'an emerge as one of China's most significant places for contemporary and independent music culture.

陕西大剧院|西安音乐厅是中国中西部地区建设规模最大、技术水平最先进的综合性文化交流平台,十五年来,共举办超过5400场演出,来自46个国家的23000多名艺术家受邀登台,接待观众超过320万人次。


其中西安音乐厅交响大厅共三层,设有1303个座位,其音响系统由塞宾奖获得者马歇尔戴声学顾问公司设计,受到马友友、赵季平、安妮-索菲·穆特、弗拉基米尔·阿什肯纳齐等大师的好评。



SNPAC is a comprehensive cultural exchange platform with the largest construction scale and equipped with the most advanced technical standards in central and western China. Over the past fifteen years, over 5,400 performances have been held, involving more than 23,000 artists from 46 countries and attracting more than 3.2 million spectators.


The Symphony Hall has three floors with 1,303 seats, whose acoustics were designed by Seibin Award winner Marshall and have been praised by maestros such as Ma Youyou, Zhao Jiping, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Vladimir Ashkenazi.

About the Xi'an International Music Festival


西安国际音乐节自2002年创办至今,已有二十二年历史。它由陕西大剧院和西安音乐厅策划出品,于每年年底至次年年初上演。


数年间,西安国际音乐节曾邀请到杜达梅尔与柏林爱乐、捷杰耶夫与慕尼黑爱乐、伊万·费舍尔与布达佩斯节日管弦乐团等世界著名大师名团,以及谭盾、马友友、傅聪、郎朗、崔健、胡德夫等艺术家参演。


如今西安国际音乐节正在以更加包容的姿态,吸纳和呈现更多音乐类型。在交响厅呈现电子音乐演出尚属首次,这标志着重要的一步,希望借此打开当代音乐与新一代乐迷的对话,并在实质上推动文化艺术的发展及交流。


The Xi'an International Music Festival, founded in 2002, and inheriting a program spanning a 22-year history, is curated and organized by the Shaanxi Opera House and the Xi'an Concert Hall. The festival is scheduled from the end of each year to the beginning of the next. 


Over the years, it has invited renowned maestros and orchestras such as Gustavo Dudamel and the Berlin Philharmonic, Valery Gergiev and the Munich Philharmonic, Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, as well as celebrated artists like Tan Dun, Yo-Yo Ma, Fu Cong, Lang Lang, Cui Jian, and Hu Defu.  


By new approach, the Xi'an International Music Festival is embracing a more inclusive approach, incorporating and showcasing a wider variety of music genres. This will be the first time electronic music will be featured in the Symphony Hall, marking a significant step in fostering dialogue between contemporary music and the new generation of music lovers, and truly advancing cultural and artistic development and exchange.

关于Krautrock — About Krautrock


Krautrock是对 20 世纪 70 年代早期出现在(西)德国的实验乐队的统称。它最初是由英国音乐媒体根据指代“德国人”的俚语“Kraut”创造的一个稍带贬义的词汇,而这一俚语则源自德国传统的酸菜“Sauerkraut”。


在德国,Krautrock诞生之初被称为“宇宙摇滚”、“电子摇滚”或“太空摇滚”,泛指多样化的实验摇滚音乐。一批艺术家将迷幻摇滚、前卫作曲和电子音乐等多种元素融合在一起,开创了这种新的流派。常见元素包括催眠的节奏、延长的即兴段落、具象音乐手法和早期合成器。

Krautrock is a generic name for the experimental bands appearing in (West-)Germany in the early 1970s. It was originally a somewhat derogatory term coined by the British music press from the slang term "Kraut", meaning "a German person" and taken from the traditional German dish of pickled cabbage, Sauerkraut.


In Germany, Krautrock was born as "Cosmic Rock", "Electric Rock" or "Space Rock" referring to a broad genre of experimental rock. It originated among artists who blended elements of psychedelic rock, avant-garde composition, and electronic music, among other eclectic sources. Common elements included hypnotic rhythms, extended improvisation, musique concrète techniques, and early synthesizers.


Krautrock and, prominently, the "Berlin School" became widely influential in the development of electronic music worldwide. Musicians and producers, such as David Bowie and Brian Eno, actively sought exchange with German electronic musicians, such as Cluster, and adopted musical ideas and practices.


Paramount groups associated with the Krautrock label included Neu!, Can, Faust, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel, Popol Vuh, Amon Düül II, and Harmonia.

流动The Flow ——幻念 The Fiction


在艺术家的思想与工作的进程中,战栗总是与创作如影随形——打破、解构、破解和创造。这一过程的结果和一个个瞬间以艺术想象和实践的形式呈现出来。每件艺术作品、每种类型的表演最终都只是截取自某个创意概念的片段,作为一种传播媒介,使想法变得可见、可听或可触摸。


“Plain District素域”来源于这样一种假想,一个不断变化和重建的矩阵——临时来到这个世界,从未妄想或意图去获得固定的最终形态。在一个想象的空间内,艺术性的音乐过程和幻象交汇,并在设计空间和音乐演出的对话中被经验和感知到。


电子音乐的领域仍然是开放的,并持续扩展,处于永不停歇的实验之中;这一领域有可能与其他所有音乐流派和任何形式的音乐创意实践接触或深入交流。它开创了一个涵盖真实和虚拟特质的艺术和社会网络,通过众多并行进程,整合并生成千变万化的制作和演出方法。


在一个被数字技术主导的世界里,人们已经无法区分虚构与现实、“假”与“真”,通过诸如抖音等媒体,世界的主观形象以高帧率不断生成,并通过人工智能的动态实施呈指数级变化,在真实空间中,通过社交互动体验艺术和音乐理念的行为变得愈发罕见,也更显珍贵。



In their thought and work processes, artists are subject to a permanent flow of shaking and making — breaking, deconstructing, cracking open, and creating. The results and snapshots of this process manifest themselves in the form of artistic vision and practice. Every work of art, every type of performance, is ultimately only an excerpt of a creative concept and serves as a means of transport to make an idea visible, audible, or tangible.


The Plain District originates from such fiction, as a matrix of constant change and renewal — a temporary coming into the world, without ever assuming or aiming for a fixed, final form. It is an imaginary space where artistic musical processes and visions converge and are made perceptible for being experienced in the dialogue of designed space and musical performance.


The field of electronic music remains open, constantly expanding, and in a state of permanent experimentation; a field that can potentially touch or enter into exchange with every other music genre and any form of musical and creative practice. It spans and causes an artistic and social network of physical and virtual qualities, passing through multitudes of parallel processes, incorporating and generating wide varieties of production and performance methods.


In a digitally dominated world in which it is no longer possible to distinguish between fiction and reality, the “fake” and the “real”, in which the subjective image of the world is perpetually generated at high-speed frame rates via media such as TikTok and shifts exponentially through the dynamic implementation of artificial intelligence, the experience of artistic and musical ideas in a physical space with social interaction is becoming as rare as it is valuable.

2024年的活动将以"流动幻念"为主题,开辟新的领域,在三个城市分别呈现三种新的模式,扩展这个根植于中国,同时具有国际化的格局的平台的创新能量和适应性。



The Plain District is an open non-profit platform focusing on the expanding spectrum of electronic music culture, hosting yearly events in altering cities across China. 


The 2024 edition, themed Flux Fiction, is breaking raw ground, by presenting three novel formats in three cities, expanding the innovative power and adaptability of the project — an international format, ceased in China. 


Supported by the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, the German embassy in Beijing, and the German consulates in Chengdu and Guangzhou, the Plain District has been fostering the creative dialogue and sustainable cultural exchange between electronic music protagonists and communities in China and internationally since 2021.
