2024年1月6日就是小寒节气,小寒这一天过了之后,就是中国传统佳节中的“腊八节”。俗话说:腊七腊八,冻傻叫花!可见寒冬腊月的腊八节,不是一般的冷。所以中国人的老祖宗才传给我们,要在腊八节这一天在家熬煮“腊八粥”来喝,以此来达到在寒冷的冬季,滋补身体,温补脾胃,让我们可以顺利度过寒冬。

On January 6, 2024, it was the solar term "Xiaohan", and after this day, it marked the traditional Chinese festival known as "Laba Festival". There's a saying: "Seventh and eighth day into the final lunar month, freezing cold will numb the scrounger!" It's evident that Laba Festival in the cold winter lunar month of December is exceptionally cold. That's why our ancestors passed down the tradition of making and drinking "Laba Porridge" at home on this day, aiming to nourish the body and warm the spleen and stomach during the harsh winter, allowing us to smoothly pass through the cold season.

腊八粥有糯米、芝麻、苡仁、桂圆、红枣、香菇、莲子等八种食物。在白米等精细食材的基础上,适当搭配一些糙米类、杂粮类等谷物,这样粗细搭配不仅吃起来更有质感,而且可以摄取更丰富的营养物质。

Laba Porridge consists of eight ingredients, including glutinous rice, sesame, coix seed, longan, red dates, mushrooms, lotus seeds, and more. Based on fine ingredients like white rice, it is appropriately mixed with coarse grains and miscellaneous grains, enhancing both texture and nutritional intake.

中国各地喝腊八粥,口味有咸有甜。江苏地区吃腊八粥分甜咸两种,煮法一样。只是咸粥是加青菜和油。四川地大人多,腊八粥做法五花八门,甜咸麻辣。

Throughout China, Laba Porridge varies in taste, ranging from savory to sweet. In the Jiangsu region, there are both sweet and savory varieties, sharing the same cooking method. The only difference is that savory porridge includes vegetables and oil. In Sichuan, with its large population, Laba Porridge comes in various flavors, including sweet, savory, numbing, and spicy.
